ANNUAL DIOCESAN COLLECTION


This is the only collection during the year to meet our 
diocesan commitments. In the diocese these include: 
The Adult Religious Programme, The Parish Renewal 
programme, Youth Ministry, Accord (formerly 
CMAC), and the education of our priests. Besides the 
diocese has to contrinute to Church activities outside 
the diocese like CURA (counselling for woman with 
unwanted pregnancies) the Commission of the Bishops 
Conference which looks after Emigrants, Prisoners 
overseas, Catholic Education, Peace and Justice, Ecumenism, 
Liturgy,the Press and Information Office. 

We also have to contribute to the cost of the Regional 
Marriage Tribunal and to the upkeep of the Holy 
Places in Palestine (for which we do not hold a special 
collection). 

All this adds up to more than €100,000 per year, I 

thank all those who contribute generously each year.
