As you are aware the UN has declared a Famine in Africa, especially in Somalia, Ethiopia & Kenya. More than 12 million people are at risk, half of them children. The situation is really desperate. If you have not yet made a contribution to the Special Collection for Trocaire, You can still put it in an envelope and place it in the regular Collection Basket next Sunday. Your support is much appreciated in these difficult times for everyone. Sincere thanks to all who contributed so generously in all three church areas last Sunday. Monday 15th August is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary & A Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be celebrated as follows on the Feast Day itself: Killargue ** 11.00am; Newtownmanor** 7.00pm; Dromahair ** 8.00pm. Mass at the Holy Well in Killargue will be celebrated at 7.00pm ~ weather permitting. If weather does not permit, Mass will be held in the church at 7.00pm. If heavy rain falls, the ground around the Holy Well can be quite dangerous and is most for anyone with mobility problems. Please don't take chances! GENERAL / CHURCH NOTICES. [A] The Visitation & Blessing of Graves in Newtownmanor Cemeteries takes place this Sunday 7th August & will follow the same time pattern as last year, beginning with Mass at 5.3Qpm. Blessing of graves will follow immediately after Mass in Manor New Cemetery at 6.00pm and we will continue with visitation & blessing in Carrickatemple Cemetery**, approximately 6.30pm. Please tidy vour family plots in advance of this date. All cars should be parked facing downhill from the Manor Church and on the left handside of the road.
