Parish Website: www.drumlease-killaraue.com Fr. John Me Tiernan ~ 071- 9164143 / Fr. John Sexton ~071 -9164131. Dromahair ~ Killargue ~ Newtownmanor Sunday 16th January 2011 ~ Second Sunday in Ordinary Time. Today is World Day for Migrants & Refugees. We pray for those who have come to our shores from other lands. May we treat them with respect as the children of God. We also remember our own people in other lands ~ near and far ~ especially our younger people forced to leave their native land due to the current economic circumstances. GENERAL / CHURCH NOTICES. [A] The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins on Tuesday 18th January 2011 and continues until Tuesday 25th January 2011. The theme for the week comes from the Acts of the Apostles 2:42 describing the first church in Jerusalem: They devoted themselves to the apostles'teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. This theme is a call back to the origins of the first church in Jerusalem; it is a call for inspiration and renewal, a return to the essentials of the faith; and it is a call to remember the time when the church was one. We are asked to listen to the Word, celebrate in fellowship ~ especially the Eucharist ~ and take time to pray. [B] Diocese of Kiimore ~ Marriage Preparation Courses: It is Diocesan policy that each couple should attend an ACCORD Pre-Marriage Course. Facilitators giving these courses undergo continued in -service training and supervision. And the sacramental aspect of marriage receives appropriate attention. It is a wise practice to do a course up to a year before the date of your marriage. Doing a course only weeks before your wedding makes little sense! All couples are asked to note this request and make suitable & timely arrangements. Contact ACCORD in the Pastoral Centre, Cavan at 049 4375004 for courses available in the Diocese of Kiimore. Courses available monthly to May, plus October & November 2011. [C] First Friday Visitation ~ continues this week: Unforeseen circumstances did not allow Visitation last week. All concerned will be contacted beforehand to arrange a suitable time and day. [D] Parish Pastoral Council: Next meeting, The Depot, Dromahair on Tuesday 25th January at 8.30pm.
